elec expo 2011 for the first time with Hosted Buyers" Program

elec expo, the 6th International Electricity, Lighting, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Automation Trade Fair, will be organised by Fenelec-the Moroccan Federation of Electricity, Electronics and Renewable Energies, in close cooperation with the German trade fair specialists fairtrade from Heidelberg and their long-term Moroccan partners Forum 7. The trade show enjoys the benefits of a Hosted Buyers“ Program, which Fenelec will realize in cooperation with CAFELEC and Maroc Export. elec expo 2011, held concurrently with EneR Event, the 1st International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Trade Fair, is scheduled for 22 – 26 November 2011 at the Casablanca International Fairgrounds – OFEC in Morocco.

Moroccan imports of electro-technology reached 2.518 billion euros in 2009, with France, China, Spain, Germany and Italy being the main suppliers (ZVEI-the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers“ Association). It is against the backdrop of rising investments into the Moroccan energy, industry and building sectors and an increase in demand for energy and electrical engineering products, that Fenelec-the Moroccan Federation of Electricity, Electronics and Renewable Energies organizes the 6th edition of elec expo and the first edition of its new trade fair EneR Event, in cooperation with Germany“s fairtrade and their Moroccan partners Forum 7.

According to Youssef Tagmouti, President of Fenelec, „elec expo and EneR Event enjoy the benefits of a Hosted Buyers“ Program, which Fenelec will realize in cooperation with CAFELEC-The African Electricity Confederation and Maroc Export, the governmental Moroccan Center for Export Promotion under the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Trade. A budget covering the expenses for travel and accommodation has been allocated to invite more than a hundred senior buyers from Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal and Togo.“ Moroccan producers increased their exports of electro-technology worldwide to 1,470.2 billion Euros in 2009 (ZVEI-the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers“ Association).

Germany is the Guest of Honor of elec expo in 2011. As one of Morocco“s most important trading partners, Germany“s presentation as Guest of Honor contributes to further develop this comfortable position According to ZVEI, German exports of electro-technology to Morocco have reached 222.2 million Euros in 2009.

Outlines Martin Maerz, fairtrade“s managing director: „In addition to the „Made-in-Germany“ pavilion France will as well be officially present with a pavilion organised by ubifrance. Other pavilions are expected from Austria, China, Italy, Spain and Turkey. By the end of May, more than a hundred national and international market leaders have booked their stands, the target for 2011 being 200 exhibitors and more than 4,000 qualified visitors of the trade.“

The German-Moroccan Conference on Energy Efficiency will be held alongside elec expo 2011, as well as a Franco-Moroccan Conference organized by ubifrance and technical presentations by the exhibitors. elec expo 2011 enjoys the official support of the Moroccan Ministry of Energy and Mines, Water and Environment, of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies and of the Ministry of Foreign Trade.
